Reigning Norwegian Fiesta R2 Champion, Frank Tore Larsen, revelled in the chance to drive a Kumho-shod WRC Fiesta on the recent Sølandsprinten event, finishing a remarkable 2nd overall and setting fastest time of all on the last stage. Reported Larsen: “This was our first experience of four-wheel drive and, as we’d only had 20km of testing beforehand, were merely attempting to finish the event and gain valuable knowledge of the car. However, our driving improved as the rally progressed and I found the traction from our Kumho tyres was phenomenal during both braking and acceleration. The result was very pleasing and we are investigating the opportunity of more outings in the WRC Fiesta or R5 in the future.”
“This was a great result by Frank and we were equally delighted with the performance of our tyres – the new, stiffer casing Kumho 205/65R15 K71.”
Commented Kumho’s European Motorsport Manager Steve Thompson.
