MULTIPLE DESIGN AWARD WINNER KUMHO RECEIVES A 2021 ACCOLADE FOR ITS NEW ECSTA V730 PATTERN

No stranger to receiving Red Dot Design Awards and other equally prestigious international design accolades, Kumho has now been feted with a Red Dot Design Award 2021 in the ‘product design’ category for its latest street legal competition tyre, the ECSTA V730 that was launched in the US market earlier this year.

A descendant of the ECSTA V720 ACR specifically developed for the 645bhp Dodge Viper ACR, the newcomer is notable for its cutting-edge compound and robust asymmetric tread block design. Its sidewall features the dynamic graphic of a motor racing flag in recognition of its competition heritage.

Organised by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen of Germany since 1955, the Red Dot Design Award pays tribute to winners in the three categories of product design, brands & communication and design concept. Together with the International Forum Design (iF) – also from Germany – and the International Design Award (IDEA) of the United States, it is recognised as one of the world’s top three design awards.

“We were honoured with the world’s top four design awards last year, proving our technological prowess and design capabilities,” commented Cho Man-sik, a senior vice president of RE Product Development at Kumho Tire. “The receipt of the Red Dot Design Award 2021 is a good start for this year, and we will continue striving to develop products and technologies that fit our reputation as a technology leader.”
