Maiden Auto GP Win for Roda

Race 1 saw Kimiya Sato fight for victory in the Austrian round of the 2014 Auto GP against a hard-charging Tamas Pal Kiss (Virtuosi UK) who he finally eclipsed on lap 14.

Race 2 saw a completely different outcome with Andrea Roda (Virtuosi UK) scoring his maiden Auto GP win. After starting from the third row on the grid, Roda recovered ground early on before moving into the lead during the pit-stops. Scoring a total of 35 points over the weekend resulted in Roda being awarded €20,000 in prize money and third place in standings behind team-mate Tamas Pal Kiss who ended in second.

Sato still remains in the overall lead despite his forced retirement from race 2 due to suspension failure, the same fate shared by Giovesi right after a pit-stop.

Finishing the podium line up was Michela Cerruti who managed a spectacular comeback after staring last and an early retirement in race 2 due to contact with a wall.

Round 7 commences on the 16th August 2014 at the Nürburgring Circuit.
