Back to Nürburgring for Auto GP

We may have one more round to go but the title of Auto GP champion has already been claimed. Kimiya Sato finished third at the end of Race 2 at Nürburgring with enough points to mathematically ensure he remains at the top.

After taking the runner up position in the 2013 Auto GP series, it would appear Sato was determined to triumph and with six wins, seven fastest laps and 10 podium finishes in the 12 races in which he took part, it seemed destined from the start.

Tamas Pal Kiss took the Nürburgring race 2 win despite starting from the third row, leading the race by the second round against the pole sitter Francesco Draco (Super Nova). Teammate Markus Pommer was unfortunately penalised with a drive through penalty for jumping the start, a disappointment for the German driver who was hoping to take lead position on his home turf and on a circuit he was very familiar with. The rest of the drivers will now be fighting for the remaining top positions and with one round to go, it’s one you won’t want to miss.

The final round of Auto GP takes place on October 19th in Portugal at the Estoril circuit.
